About Me

Whilst my work is a great passion of mine, I also have wider interests outside of this scope too! Above and beyond my CV, I have a wide range of hobbies and interests.

  • Running

My husband and I are currently training for a half marathon, at our own time and pace, just to say we managed it! Running has always been a joy of mine and has helped me keep balanced and mindful even during stressful periods. I don’t think I’ve quite reached a runner’s high yet, but I’ll get there!
  • Film Club

Film is one of my greatest passions in life! If ever I have a free moment, there’s not much that will stop me from watching even a few minutes of a classic, like The Godfather, E.T. or After Hours. My husband and I frequently attend special screenings in our home city, have memberships to two local cinemas and even run our own small Film Club with friends and family. See below for a link to my Letterboxd account!
  • Crochet

After being introduced to crochet by my cousin, I caught the crafting bug hard! I’ve been crocheting for nearly three years now and I adore watching a single thread of yarn become a complex, detailed creation. Although I am sometimes The Cranky Crocheter, even if I look frustrated, I promise you I’m enjoying it! So far, I’ve made plushies for my family members, scarves, mittens and even tops that I have worn to concerts. I might even share some of my creations on my blog, if I can get a little better!
  • Baking and Cooking

Baking has been a favourite pastime in my family since childhood and cooking is definitely a love-language of mine. Every year, I insist on baking cakes for my Husband and Sister’s birthdays, even if I do occasionally have to take a moment to myself because the pink icing didn’t turn out the right shade! All the same, I love being able to take a handful of ingredients, turn them into something delicious and share it with my loved ones. My husband and I grow our own vegetables too, including pumpkins every year, and I can’t wait to be able to make some pies this autumn from our very own produce.
  • Veganism

I am a proud vegan and have been since 2020. I love trying new vegan recipes and adapting old foods I used to love to suit my palate now. I am passionate about our environment and wildlife, so being a Vegan means this also applies to the products I use and buy. I also love to garden and have worked hard on my back garden with my Husband to ensure we have lots of native wild flowers and plants that suit and help support our natural world.
